Cockburn Range

This fused/slumped sculptural free-standing piece is 78 x 25cm, created in 6 layers of transparent and opaque glass.
The iconic Cockburn Range in the East Kimberley region of northern Western Australia is the inspiration for this work. The range is an extensive sandstone escarpment, shaped like a vast fortress of high orange cliffs, running along the Gibb River Road. It rises 600 metres above the surrounding plains and is cut by wild rivers forming steep sided gorges.
