| This is the story of the discovery and history of gold in Western Australia. From its early beginnings in the 1850s, through to the" gold rush" on the stock-exchange in the 1980s. A map of a section of the Kalgoorlie open-cut mine forms the background for this story. The rest is told by the use of atomic elements, weights, periodic number for gold and important historical dates and place names of mines in the Goldfields. The final "chapter' of the story is completed by the use of graphs, charts and listings from the stock-market and of the Perth minted, gold coin which was first released in 1986. | |||||||
